Spider Lift Hire in Yorkshire: Everything You Need to Know
Working at height isn’t always straightforward, particularly when access is restricted, ground conditions are challenging or conventional equipment simply isn’t suitable.
That’s where spider lifts come in.
At Spider Platform Hire, we provide specialist operated spider lift hire across Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, helping tree surgeons, contractors and property maintenance teams tackle challenging access requirements.
What is a spider lift?
A spider lift is a compact, tracked mobile elevating work platform designed to provide access at height.
Unlike many conventional access platforms, spider lifts can travel through narrow openings and operate in locations where space is limited.
Their stabilising outriggers provide support once positioned, making them particularly useful for projects involving uneven terrain or restricted working areas.
What are spider lifts used for?
Spider lifts are used across several industries, including:
???? Tree surgery and arboriculture
Spider lifts provide access to tree canopies for pruning, reductions and sectional dismantling.
They can be particularly useful where climbing presents additional risks or where the tree’s condition makes conventional access difficult.
???? Roofing and building maintenance
From roof inspections to gutter repairs, spider lifts can provide temporary access without requiring extensive scaffolding.
???? Commercial property maintenance
Facilities teams use spider lifts for inspections, cleaning, repairs and other high-level maintenance tasks.
⛪ Historic buildings
Churches and heritage buildings often present unusual access challenges. Compact tracked platforms can offer a practical solution, subject to suitable ground conditions and site assessments.
Why choose operated spider lift hire?
At Spider Platform Hire, our spider lifts are supplied with experienced operators.
This means customers can concentrate on their work while our team handles the operation and positioning of the platform.
