Emergency Tree Works: How Spider Lifts Can Help
Storm damage, fallen branches and dangerous trees don’t always happen at convenient times.
Whether it’s a damaged tree threatening a building, branches obstructing a road or an unstable tree requiring urgent attention, getting the right equipment to site can be essential.
At Spider Platform Hire, we support arborists, contractors and local authorities with specialist operated spider lift hire for challenging tree work.
Why are spider lifts useful for emergency tree work?
Following storms or severe weather, trees can become unstable and difficult to access.
In some circumstances, climbing may not be a suitable option.
A spider lift can provide an alternative means of access, allowing suitably trained tree professionals to assess and undertake work from an elevated platform.
However, every emergency situation requires a suitable risk assessment, particularly where damaged trees, unstable ground or overhead hazards are involved.
Accessing difficult locations
Emergency tree works can take place in locations including:
???? Residential gardens
???? Roadsides and highways
???? School grounds
???? Commercial properties
???? Woodland and public spaces
Spider lifts are particularly useful where conventional access platforms cannot easily reach the working area.
Can spider lifts be used at night?
Yes, spider lifts can support night-time operations where conditions allow.
Overnight work may be necessary to address urgent hazards or minimise disruption to roads, businesses and public spaces.
Appropriate lighting, exclusion zones, ground assessments and safe working arrangements remain essential.
Operated hire for emergency tree works
